This project involved the preparation of a comprehensive design package and calculations for a new 19,000 sqm steel factory located in the industrial area of Umm Saaed, Qatar. The core objective was to meticulously design the steel factory's structural framework, which was comprised of two expansive steel structures. These structures were specifically engineered to meet demanding operational requirements, featuring an 11-meter eave height and a 14-meter apex height to accommodate large-scale industrial activities. A key component of the design was the specialized analysis required for the seamless and safe integration of a complex crane system. This system included six individual cranes with a combined lifting capacity of 96 tons, necessitating precise calculations to ensure the structural integrity of the entire building under heavy dynamic loads. The design had to account for all operational forces, including dead loads, live loads, wind loads, and seismic considerations, to guarantee a robust and durable facility capable of supporting its intended industrial function.
