Project information
Structural Condition Assessment of a Residential Building — Al Mansoura
We assessed a residential building of six storeys (ground plus five), more than twenty years old, with no original structural drawings available. We inspected it floor by floor and documented spalled concrete, damage at the base of columns and walls, deteriorated plaster and excessive thickness of floor finishes. We carried out rebound hammer, core, chloride, sulphate, carbonation and half-cell tests. The results showed reduced concrete strength in the lower floors, while chemical durability remained sound. We prepared the Phase I report and defined the scope of the full structural analysis for the next phase. Codes used: QCS 2024, ACI 318-19 and ASCE/SEI 41.
Our role
Structural condition assessment, concrete testing review, and Phase I report.
